Logan Hassig is a native of New Martinsville, West Virginia. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bethany College in 1970 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University in 1973. Logan Hassig joined the law firm of Snyder & Hassig as an associate in 1973. He became a partner in the firm in 1977 and became managing partner in 1985.
