Nurse Consultant Division
Welcome to our web site! We invite you to explore
our site, and learn more about the Legal Nurse Consultant
Division of the West Virginia Bar Association.
LNC Division
History
| The
West Virginia Bar Association, founded in 1886,
invited legal nurse consultants to join as associate
members in June of 2002. The association was
the first to create a division for nurses specializing
in legal nurse consulting. Within months, twenty-four
LNCs joined the organization. On July 11, 2003
a special organizational meeting was held for
the official founding of the LNC Division. It
was a historic event, and our members became
the first LNCs in the nation to join a statewide
bar association, approve bylaws, and install
a Board of Directors. |
Purpose
The purpose of the Legal Nurse Consultant Division
is to promote the professional advancement of registered
nurses practicing in a consulting capacity within
the legal arena, to provide educational opportunities
related to legal nurse consulting, and to provide
a forum for networking.
LNC Section Goals
- Raise the profile of LNCs in the legal community
- Provide educational programs for LNCs and attorneys
- Provide networking opportunities for LNCs within
the Bar
- Promote the West Virginia Bar Association
- Promote AALNC and legal nurse consulting
As members of the WVBA, we hope to strengthen the
partnership between medicine and the law, and set
the stage for LNC membership in bar associations across
the country.
LNC Division members also belong to the American
Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, our professional
nursing organization.
