Presenter Bio:
Chris R. Arthur
Mr. Chris Arthur is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of West Virginia in the Civil Division. He represents the United States and its respective agencies in various legal disputes, including disputes asserted against the Internal Revenue Service, Housing and Urban Development, Bureau of Prisons, United States Department of Agriculture, Dept. of Health and Human Services, and others. Prior to working in the Civil Division, he successfully prosecuted white collar crimes, including embezzlements against federal agencies and credit card fraud, and drug and gun crimes. 32 total convictions as a federal prosecutor.
He graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law, Order of Coif, Magma Cum Laude, and was a member of the Law Review.
Prior to law school, he earned degrees in Accounting and Spanish from WVU, finishing summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Honors Program. He also studied abroad in Mexico, Spain, and Quebec.
He also was a frequent speaker at the West Virginia Bar Association's Real Estate
Division, being a speaker for 10 straight years. He also served as the President of
the Real Estate Division.
